Frances Metcalf, Executive Chef and Owner of Travelling Gourmet, Vancouver Personal Chef and Catering Services was born and raised in BC and formally trained in French cuisine at the Dubrulle International Culinary and Hotel Institute of Canada, the country's leading culinary school. Her passion for food led to additional training and teaching forays in S.E. Asia including Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and the Caribbean giving her cooking style a unique global perspective. Amazing food and fabulous service have earned her mentions in some of Canada's leading publications including The National Post, The Vancouver Sun, The Windsor Star, Times Colonist, North Shore News, Food and Hospitality Magazine, The Vancouver Magazine, Shaw Cable's Urban Rush and other local and national publications.
With Travelling Gourmet successfully running since August of 2002, Chef Metcalf has a client base that ranges from busy professionals and families to CEO's of corporations and famous personalities that she cooks for at home in Vancouver and abroad. While not running the creative and business aspects of the business, you can find Frances with her husband, travelling, sailing or hiking the trails of the beautiful North Shore of Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast.
